This week we are getting ready for an upcoming Craftshow in Utah Valley called "Beehive Bazaar" and me and the wife thought it would be fun to make some bow ties. Though before I could commit to making bow ties, I had to learn how to tie them. It's actually quite simple, after filming my good friend Frank tie his (he doesn't even need a mirror!) I think I've got it figured out >>>>------->

Monaco Hotel Recycled Art Show, Downtown Salt Lake City, April 15 2011
~A month or two ago I was asked to take part in a special art show at the Monaco Hotel celebrating Earth Week. Me and a few other artists went to the Hotel and got to search around the hotel and find stuff that would be thrown away normally and make art out of it!
I found a door, some cast iron postal slot windows from when it used to be a bank.
My idea behind the peice came from a few sources.. I've been watching Dr. Who with my quite a bit lately and I wanted to build a sort of time portal, with a spiritual momento twist of sorts. Much Sorting was involved.. All in all, it turned out to be a fun project!
If your in Salt Lake this week, go by the Hotel and check it out, it will be up til Friday.

April Showers brings more studio time!
Setting some faux wooden type, a developmental process of using photopolymer plates on MDF to make moveable type for simple compositions. Development by Rob Buchert of Tryst Press and Colt Bowden of Voila! Press. Experiments are fun!
